TEMPORALITY

28 February - 25 March 2012, Tacit Contemporaty Art

Tim frequently explores the notion of identity and sexuality, and his own in particular, through his artwork. His own history of marks and tone enter his imagery, providing a link between the temporal self, the sexual and the creative.

But in Temporality, Tim has returned to exploring abstraction and a more philosophical bent to his musings in his art practice. Elements from these landscapes are used as a language to reflect a metaphysical accumulation of actions and reactions.

Once we are lured into a reflection of these elemental forces we are then tempted to think about our own place within them. Tim’s work suggests to us that we not only contemplate the physical and material but also that which is inexplicable: the presence of the spiritual as well.

Thus the abstract landscape becomes a metaphorical mirror to understand ourselves, veiled though it is.
